Has anyone heard anything about a variable-power Eotech?

I heard someone say that Eotech might be introducing something like this but have found no confirmation anywhere. Anyone hear anything about it?

Speaking with EOTech directly, I'm told they're coming out with a seperate magnifier, similar in concept to the Aimpoint 3x.
I can say from experience that the Concept works well, if you're inclined toward that sort of thing. The zeroed optic remains simple (no zoom mechanism) and it remains in place-- you go from 1x to 3x or more by popping the magnifier on and off. The EOTech reticle is really nice through the Aimpoint 3x, and I'm interested in getting hold of the new magnifier from Eotech.

It sounds like a great idea. I would mention that it moves you from Tactical to Open in IPSC three-gun competition. That means you also move up in shotgun and pistol and compete against shooters with optics on their pistols and shotguns.
