I am considering buying a chronograph to help develop my handloads. I certainly don't need the best but don't want something I will want to upgrade either. I have done searches here and on the web. I would like to here what you folks have to say. Can you share your experiences and give me a recommendation? Thanks

This is what I have and it has worked great. It has options to upgrade it in the future if you wish. (the digital)

I know it's as basic as they come but my Chrony F-1 has worked great. Best part was it only cost about $65 on sale at Sportsman's Warehouse. If you don't like writing numbers down after each shot you may want to upgrade though.

Got the same one (look for them to go on sale every once in a while at Midway) and have not had a problem at all. It does my pistol and rifle re-loads with ease and gives me all the info I need.
I am a gaget guy, but for some things I just need the simple plain info, and that crony gives it to me (while being able to store a couple of different strings so I can record them when I get back home).

Just an observation and I realize it won't be a concern for many but......... I have a Chrony (An old one) and it will not give me a good consistent read when the temperature is below freezing. I was told that most don't work well in the cold. Like I said just an observation from collected information. I do most of my shooting in the winter months due to seasonal work. I very much would like the luxury of using one when I shoot but I just wrote it off for the above reason. I have posted on other boards regarding this issue. However for most, it isn't a concern and as a result I never received much feedback.

Wish I could help, but if, and when, it ever gets below freezing down here, we do not go outside let-alone shooting.
Heck, most folks don't want to go outside when it gets down to 40!
