Any advice?

I received a RCBS Partner press kit for my birthday. I'm wanting to reload for my .41 mag. I've read several manuals and info from powder websites.
I'm going to use Hornady 210 gr. XTPs. I'm leaning toward Accurate No. 7 powder and CCI 300 primers. I don't plan to load to max yet.
Anybody care to comment about this selection? Anybody offer any advice? I've already bought the Hornady bullets, waiting to purchase the rest after more research.
Thanks for any comments.

I have not loaded for the .41 Magnum but the XTP's have been super accurate for me in the .357 and .44 mag in all weights. My personal preference is Winchester 296 for Magnum rounds 357 and 44. Velocitiy is up and pressures are decent. Primers are a personal thing. A number of years ago their was a shortage and I had to use what I could get. I personally did not notice a difference in the brands. Don't go below the recommended and take your time going up to the max. Somewhere in between will be the sweet spot. My manual shows 14.7 grains as being max with the No.7 at approx 1200 fps, 671 ft. lbs with that bullet. Bill

Depending upon what you want your load to do. For full power magnum loads 17.5 grs of Alliants 2400 works well for me with the Hornady bullet though. I've found a load of 13.3grs of AA#7 is a good load behind the 200gr Remington JHP bulk bullet and 12.0grs is a good load for 215gr Cast SWC.

For economy I've been loading the 215gr SWC's with 7.8grs of Unique or 7.0grs of Win 231.

I'm wanting a middle-of-the-road plinking load. Looking for something to let some new handgun shooters learn on.
I've got a good supply of Hornady ammo for hunting. I would like something close to the same POI so I don't have to change the sights. If I reduce velocity, do I need a lighter or heavier bullet?

I like Unique but it is smokey. Okay outdoors, but horrible at an indoor range.
