I've noticed in the past few years that there are more and more shotguns coming out of Turkey. Does anyone else see this as a conflict of interest?
I mean, would you buy a 30-06 from a country called "Deer"? or a .17 from Woodchukistan? This is obviously some conspiracy by wildlife to put faulty firearms in the hands of sportsmen.

I rather like that one Academy sells for about $390, starts with an Iz or something, weird name. It's a good lookin' gun, though, and assembled in Katy, Texas I've heard. I just don't need a friggin' frackin' nuther shotgun. I'd like to have an O/U, though, don't have one. But, I'd never use the danged thing. I was thinking of getting it in 20 gauge. Most of my bird hunting is ducks and geese with the balance dove. I see such a gun as an upland gun for flushing birds, quick to point.
I don't know, I may wind up with one, but I doubt it. I just don't have the need. If I get another shotgun, it probably OUGHT to be an 11/87. I've been wanting one for waterfowl for the 3" chamber, thought I could look for a used one at the gun shows. My Winchester 1400 is 2 3/4" only, but really, it's plenty for ducks over decoys, 12 gauge at least. Or, maybe I could look for another used Winchester 1400 in 20 gauge. I'd like to have a 20. I doubt that Turkish gun is in my future, though, though I really wanted it when I first saw it. I'm a sucker for double guns, have an old Spanish made side-by-side double that still hunts, but I never use it. And, I have a Mossberg camo M500 I've duck and goose hunted with for 15 years now. Thing about that Mossy, though, it's not nice to my shoulder like my Winchester. That auto is SO sweet, like shooting a 20. If I had one in 20, it wouldn't recoil at all. :D

I don't care where they're made or who's making them. If the quality is decent and the price right, they get my money and I get a new gun.
I have a Turkish made over/under that I paid a bit over $400 for off the dealer's rack. Other than having a couple burrs on the mono block, it's just as good as most other O/Us I've encountered.
Granted it's not a Citori Lightning, but the ptarmigan, grouse and ducks don't know that.:neener:

You have amused me. Thanks.
On a related note, I heard a rumor that due to high labor costs, Remington is considering relocating its rifle production facilities to the US Venison Islands.

Right across the Dardanelles, I understand that someone in Athens has come up with the gun lubricant to end all gun lubricants.
