Does anyone have one of the new Whitney Wolverine pistols? What do you think?

I love the way they look!

I remembered the originals from the late 50s and never owned one. Looked these new ones over at the NRA exhibits in Milwaukee in May and ordered one for grins. I had heard on a board that they had feeding problems so I was a little leery. Have had it out a few times and I am a little ambivalent about it. The first ammo I tried in it was my usual Federal 38 grain HVHP which works fine in all my other .22 autoloaders, and the Whitney couldn't even get through one magazine.
Took it home, field stripped it, and did some deburring and polishing, and the next time out I tried whatever it was they recommended in the manual; better, but still not feeding well. Then tried it with CCI Stingers which worked a lot better but not 100% yet. Haven't had it out for a while but it at least seems to be improving. Might clip some length off an extra recoil spring to see if that helps as I don't want to buy expensive ammo just to plink. I think I can get it to operating okay but it is a work in progress. In my case I got it for a curiosity so it's not life and death.
As a kid I wound up settling on a Ruger standard auto and still think it is a better gun, looks nonwithstanding. Your mileage may vary.
