police positive special 32 cal. unknown mark

I have a Colt Police Positive Special S/N 301xxx. Under that is a mark J80. Anyone have a clue? I've look everywhere and cannot find anything. If I've dated it right it should be around 1924.

The J80 is a factory inspector's stamp, and marks of the kind are not uncommon.
