I was given a WWB of 9mm and some other ammo that appears to be corred almost like a blue mold looking thing covering some of the ammo since its free im thinking about tossing the correded stuff due to the fact that im not sure about its integrity. I dont want my gun blowing up in my hand if their is an integrity problem. also the ammo has a funny smell. so am i making the right decision to throw it away. and if so what is the proper way to dispose of it is throwing it in the trash acceptible or do i need to do something to it. ill post pics in a lil bit

Poor photos , can't tell what you have. Some corrosion product is not a problem , though it may interfere with feeding unless cleaned off.If pitted deeply discard it. Funny smell ?? Powder has a normal smell of solvents .If it deteriorates it will have an acrid , ammonia smell --this must be discarded !! Corrosion product may have a smell too of mold etc.

Bring it to your local range and dispose of it in their hot ammo bins.

"...blue mold..." That'd be the brass equivalent of rust. Copper oxide. It's not about to explode, but don't even think about cleaning and shooting it. Pitch it, but not in your regular garbage. Your local constabulary might take it in and dispose of it for you.

Play it safe -- go buy some cheap practice 9mm at Wal Mart or your local gun store and deep six the old corroded stuff.

If you reload, then pull the bullets and trash the primed cases and the powder (after soaked in water).

next time you are out fishing...dispose of it in deep deep waters.
