I know very little about any of the Mausers. I have a 95' Spanish Mauser sporterized in 243Win. I've read that this type of Mauser chambered in .243 can unsafe to shoot so I havn't shot it since I read that.
I want a non-sporterized Mauser and in our local newspaper there is an ad for a:
"German Mauser K98, Sauer and Sohn manufactured in 1940. All codes & markings match and intact. Good shooter. $250."
Can someone give me some background on this type of Mauser?
Any info at all will be appreciated.

Thanks Much.
Angelo

German Army K98k. Good price if it does have the acceptance marks un-molested. They usually trade in the 300's on up from what I have seen.
Good info here:

That same sites forums. There is a German military rifle specific section.
