No tactical this, no HD that. No blue helmets, zombies, goblins or home invaders. So who here has fun with their guns? I for one do. Show me your "toys", not your uber tactical implements of precision destruction.

Sometimes I just want to play cowboy. :D

I have those same 3 movies, and am embarrassed to say I love 'em all!
even that di'caprio one.

I gots me a Uberti 1851 Navy clone cap'n ball pistol... Lotsa fun and almost no self-defense tactikool ninja capability at all. Maybe I should look into a 3 round burst system for it... :what:

I only own fun guns. Mall Ninjas can have all the tactical crap they want with no interference from me.

Blackhawks have become a particular favorite.

'Scuse me, but I don't see either Trinity movie anywhere in that stack.
They Call Me Trinity (My Name Is Trinity)
Trinity Is Still My Name
(Terrence Hill, Bud Spencer)

I got lots of tech or tactical pieces and many tack drivers, but my most favorite and fun guns are a Rossi model 62 pump in 22wmr, a 357 Blackhawk and a Single Six.

Damn right I shoot for fun.
A lot of my skill set was learned having fun after the "serious" stuff was over.

Good start. But I think your picture is missing 2 things (one movie & one gun).

Movie: The Outlaw Josie Wales

Gun: 12 gauge SxS

Pretty much fun exclusively... but I think some of the tactical training and competitions look like fun. I'm as interested in pretending to be Jack Bauer as Wyatt Earp - I don't think I'd ever let that bleed over into my everyday mentality.

I'm just too laidback to get too fearful of the world around me.

I'm glad to see a thread like this. It's nice to know there are a few other folks out there who don't buy a gun purely for tactical merits.

I think all my firearms are fun...and I enjoy them every chance I get. If not, I wouldn't own it.

First off, I'll say that Open Range contains the best gunfight scene of any western, ever. But we should leave that debate for a separate thread.

All of my guns are for fun. My AR is my most evil gun, but its all about fun... way too heavy to be tacticool but just right for holding steady on tiny circles at 200, 300 and 600 yards.

If the S ever hits the F, either on a large or small scale, some of them could be pressed into service for a more serious purpose, but for now, they're all fun.

For me, guns are mainly for fun. I don't really care if I shoot really well after a trip to the range, honestly. My patterns with a rifle look like they were done with a shotgun. But it doesn't bother me. I just like shooting. But, should SHTF, I can use them for defense. For that purpose, I think, a simple battle rifle like an SKS is best. Nothing fancy or tacticool.

I want Gene Hackman's gun from The Quick and the Dead - which revolver caliber makes a perfect 6" hole entrance and exit when I shoot someone in the head? :)

About time, no gloom and doom, zombies or commies, If we didn't have fun why have more than one? I like to try the one of each approach. By the way my vote goes to Tombstone, but anything with the Duke or Eastwood will do just fine. http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=51080&stc=1&d=1168567598

If it wasn't fun...it'd be work...and I hate that stuff. I'd much rather improve my shooting skills by shooting up full pop cans and such.

Only got one "serious" gun and that's the Frankenvick/Mossenstein shotgun for HD. The rest are for plinking (Win 94 and Marlin 60 - "Death to Ballons !!!"), clay games and hunting - (all the other shotguns). Although if the S ever HTF and the Crazed, Jack-Booted, Rabid, Alien, Zombie, Al-Qaeda Werebears land in my neighborhood (after a Cat5 Hurricane hits Illinois), and they eat the brain (cell) of the guy down the street that doesn't pick up after his dog craps in my front yard every morning, then I'll press everything that'll chuck lead into service to defend home and hearth. :neener:

And for movies ----High Noon and any John Ford/John Wayne pic.

Earlier today I blew 100 rounds on stripper clips through my SKS at 25 yards as fast as I could pull the trigger and reload. Then I followed it immediately up with three 25 round magazines rapid fired through my 10/22.

I THINK most of the bullets hit the target, though really, I don't frankly care as it was great fun.

I have fun with all my firearms. From uber tactical to KISS. Anything not considered fun does not stay in my collection very long.

But in keeping with the spirit of this thread, here is a gratuitous picture of my Marlin. Definitely a fine example of KISS and a lot of fun.

P.S. And yeah, were is the "The Outlaw Josie Wales" DVD?

One question: do you have to dress like a cowboy to take part in cowboy action shooting?

If we are having fun you forgot The Greatest Western of all Time............ Blazing Saddles.:neener:
No seriously "Unforgiven" is among my personal favorites, Along with "Open Range" and "Little Big Man".
As far as fun and Guns they are all fun and none of them are TactiCooled.
Most Recent Aquisitions....
Ruger GP 100 6in and a Marlin 1894c to go with the Ruger.
In the future a 1911a1 from RIA, and a ............ Don't know yet I'm a little over budget with firearms recently.:D

The first firearm I ever shot was my dad's Marlin 39 - what an AWESOME gun! I still get to shoot it on occasion, but I most definitely want it! What a cool example of a fine piece of machinery....

To compete in the main SASS shoots, yes. Not sure about the other organizations (Western 3-Gun and some whose names I can't remember).
