Go to this site and then click on the Guns in America in the left column. Of course they are not biased.

I ran across this while going through the Daily Oklahoman site. I will be calling the "Daily Disappointment" in the morning.

Gotta love the stat column for "Homicide & Legal Intervention".
Nice to know they lump in the stats for the crime of murder and Police shootings...

Not to mention lumping in legal self defense killings.

Did you see that now you can be a "child" at 24 years of age?
That was enough "CBS News" for me:barf:

I absolutely cannot stand Dan Blather and his ilk at the Communist Broadcasting Service.
CBS has about 3 or 4 light comedy entertainment shows I will watch, and the Cleveland Browns when on the road, but that's all.

Hey, their school shooting page actually lists Pearl, Miss.
What? No mention of the armed asst principal who put an end to the spree without firing a shot?
Surprise, surprise.

"The sale of semi-automatic assault weapons becomes illegal as part of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994."
Ummm, That news is going to spoil dinner for a lot of folks over on the AR15 board...???!

1976 - "The Arms Export Control Act focuses the ATF's attention on international gun smuggling."
Guess they lost their focus. :scrutiny:

When I was 24 (that was two months ago) I was a married man with a full-time job, two kids, a mortgage. . . . . I didn't realize I was a child.

When I had just turned 18 and the US Forces were put on DEFCON 3 and we started mobilizing to move as many of our warheads into the field as we could, I didn't realize that I and many of my brothers and sisters in Green were "children".
And, lest we forget, many, if not most, of the liberators of Iraq were "children".

KP95DAO,
You may have hit on something here. There were plenty of 24 year old field grade officers in WWII. When I was 24 I was moving up from being a rifle squad leader to Assistant Battalion Operations Sergeant.
Not to steal the thread, but this hits on something that has been bothering me for a long time. Our society doesn't want to let our kids grow up. A n 18 year old can be issued an M9 pistol and carry into harms way in defense of his country, but he can't go the gunshop and buy one. He can vote, but he can't go the EM club and have a beer.
Many states are now passing laws establishing graduated drivers licences. In some cases you don't get full driving privledges until you are 20. Yet here in Illinois you go to the big boy's jail at 17. In many cases you can be charged as an adult if you are as young as 13.
So when is a child an adult? How can we expect our kids to grow up when we give them such missed signals?
Jeff
