Greetings all

I have tried a couple of times to imbed images in posts. It doesn't work for me. I follow the directions, and according to the text at the bottom of the box the img code is turned on, but they never show up, and I end up having to attach them. Is there something I don't know about, or might it be a problem with my photo host? I am using photobucket to host my images, but if anyone has a suggestion for something better I am open to hear it.

Oh, I am used to using the same software on other forums and don't have trouble imbedding images, although there is the difference that here I am keeping a bit of anonymity - hence the photobucket stuff. ;)

Never had a problem using Photobucket.

hm...are you using the image code supplied by photobucket and copy and paste to try to imbed the image, or some other method. What do you mean "they never show up", dead link place holder or ???

Don't know what the problem is PennsyPlinker. As bru333 says, Photobucket is usually error free when phots on that site are linked here.

Please add a new post in this thread with an example of the image code you use and the imbedded link. Even if the image doesn't show up, we can look at the code to see if there is an error in it.

Bru333 (and anyone else interested) - a little tip when you want to demonstrate the use of tags without having to make one or more of the tags invalid so they will show up: use the "noparse" tags. The code will look like this (using your img example):

(In the above line, I used two sets of the noparse tags so the noparse itself would show up as it should be used.)

Thanks guys, the problem turned out to be my brain. Like I said, I've been embedding pictures for years, and for a lot of it, I figured out how to write the code. Most of the time it consists of copying the URL. Well photobucket is a little different. I was bringing up the individual pictures and copying the URL, which didn't work. Reading a little further down the page after reading the post by bru333 has fixed it for me. Just one more opportunity for me to appear not too with it here... :p
