Hey, they changed the signs!

Last Saturday I reported about the signs on I-270 outside of DC, the stupid wording that urged people to report "Suspicious Terrorist Activity."

Well, coming back into town last night I passed the same sign...

It now said "Report Suspected Terrorist Activity"!

I guess one of the drunken monkeys from the Maryland Highway Admin. in charge of the department of blinking messages on overhead signs reads this website! :D

'suspicious terrorist activity' as opposed to the garden variety terrorist activity?

"what constitutes "suspicous" activity?"

With many liberals it's anything you don't like.

That was my point exactly, guys, in my first message on this.

If it's not suspicious terrorist activity, should you not report it?

I mean, if they're not skulking around, but planting bombs in broad daylight in public, that's not very suspicious now, is it?

FPRice, the Republicans are just as dangerous nowadays.

Mike, i had noticed that too! i kept wondering where I was going to see suspected terrorist activity on 495. White vans?

maybe it's like a reminder. I walk by some terrorist activity on the way to my car, get in, listen to radio, blah, blah, oh RIGHT! I should call that in! thanks Mr. Lighted Traffic Sign!

Did anyone else thing about this?

If I see something that I suspect to be terrorist activity, I'm sure as hell not going to call an 800 number...

I'm going to call 911 and let them deal with it.

I think it would be far more useful in the real world to post traffic conditions, something I can use trying to decide to get onto 495 or not, or whatever. That is the original function of those signs.

After a while folks will ignore those signs unless they have something really meaningful to tells us.

I have one of those on my commute up and down 66. I want to call and ask exactly how many attacks this sign has stopped. It is one of the must laughable responses to the absolute flood of terrorism that has arrived....

That sort of reminds me of the highway signs I saw all the way through Oklahoma. They read, "hitchhikers may be escaped prisoners."

'scuse me, but is security at the prisons that lax? Is this a common problem?

I've seen those signs outside of Terre Haute, Indiana, as well, Monkey.

Doesn't matter to me, as I sure as hell am not going to pick up a hitch hiker no matter what.
