A movie about the LA shootout is going to be on FX Sunday at 8:00 PST. I just heard an ad for it on the radio but I'm sure we'll all be lamenting it's pro-gun control bent. The ad itself was pretty much hype. "What happens when two bank robbers get military rifles and body armour?" :barf:

Oh well. FYI. If this has been posted before, feel free to delete.

I've been seeing the commercials but hadn't heard when it was coming on. I want to see it even though I'm sure it'll be anti-gun.

Actually, the evil assault weapons that are now banned in the PRK helped cops put an end to this. A local gun shop (or illegal gun runner joint, as Sarah Brady likes to call them) let them borrow some AR-15s, which got through the suspect's armor.

I'd watch it, but I'll be busy waiting for telemarketers to call.

All I can say is that I am glad this is playing now not this time next year when the Anti's are really geared up over the AWB. I do hope that the producers of this show point out that the two criminals were felons that should not have had guns and that their full auto AK's were also not legal because of the NFA, but I doubt they will.

I believe it`s on tomorrow night (6/1) on FX. Have no fear though, they run the same programs constantly.

Yea, the timing of this movie surely isn't coincidental. :scrutiny:

This happened how many years ago, and they're just getting around to making the movie now?

Subtle brainwashing of the sheeple my freinds.

Looks pretty sweet to me, if they don't push anti-gun stuff. I mean pretty much everyone loves HEAT, if this is done well it could be similar...

Yeah, DMK, I've been thinking the same thing. This happened just over 6 years ago (2/28/97 IINM), and only now it warrants a made-for-TV movie?

Same subject - LA shootout. Different angle.

I may be missing something but why did it take so long to stop thoes guys ???

Why not a head shot ??

With the number of rounds fired even a bad shot would have hit them.

Police training used to be to simply use COM shots. Now they teach double tap to COM and one to the head. At least they do now in Georgia.

They finally figured out that they did not have armor on their legs.
