model "P"? It doesn't have a date, like 1873?

Indeed it does. The model P was Colt's Single Action Army, Model 1873. The "P" was a factory designation, and the name "Peacemaker" was thought up by a distributor who used it in their advertising for that particular revolver when it was chambered in .45 Colt. The "Frontier Six Shooter" was the same revolver when chambered in .44-40 or sometimes, .38-40.
