The new Springfield XD series seems to be setting a new standard.
They are truely amazing.Out of the box they shoot everything
with no failures.The quality is amazing.The glock fans are very
quite and that is amazing.They are being added to my stable.
They do seem to have one problem,they sell faster than they
can make them.Don't knock them till you have shot one
are talk to some one who has one.Incorpates Glock, Sig and 1911
design into one and they seemed to have matched up the best
parts of the designs.But if you don't like any thing you can't see the
hammer cocked on so what.Stricker fired is just fine for me, less
places for dirt and trash to enter and no snags.If you want 1.5 to
2" groups buy a hand fitted Bar-Sto barrel.So far it's the only one
that Springfield recomends as an after market.Some people say
they are ugly.Ok don't buy one so I can find some more for myself.

Personally, I think they are the best pistol to have rolled out since the HK USP.

The XD is a very fine pistol, I liked my XD 40 full size so much I bought the first Subcompact I saw in the store without a moments hesitation. Th 40 has about 1800 rounds with only one round that didn't fully eject, but I had fired about 400 rounds that day without cleaning or luding. The Subcompact I have about 600 rounds throough with no problems. You listed most of the positive features of the gun but the reasonable price is one I think you should consider. I don't know where you are from but in Phoenix I can usually find the full size nine and forty and the Subcompact can be found if you look hard enough.

the only ammo that won't feed with it is fiocchi 170gr.
this stuff eats Wolf ammo without a problem. actually you can see if the gun is cocked, you can also tell if the chamber is loaded (either by visual or by touch).
