Not as pretty as a Colt nor as refined as a Smith they have a special appeal all their own.

I've got a 44 Magnum Redhawk that's the cat's PJ's, what's yours?

I really like their .44 mag Redhawk. It fits me well, and with a little action work, shoots very well. It's nice and rugged too, so hot loads don't tend to shoot it loose as quick as some others. I had a Super Blackhawk in .44 mag but sold it. I often wish I didn't, but I just don't care for most modern single action revolvers. It was an extremely accurate gun though. One of the most accurate revolvers I've ever encountered. I don't like Ruger's P series guns that much (though I own a few), but their revolvers and .22's are outstanding.

I like the Ruger Super blackhawk with the 7.5" barrel in stainless steel, mainly because it looks bad A$$, and it's quite a boomer. I also love the short barreled SP101 in 357, its packs a lot of bullet in a small package.

GP-100, .357, 6 inch, stainless. Bought it because I had always wanted a 6inch .357 and got a good deal on the price and a good price on the trade in. Being a confirmed S&W snob I was shocked at how smooth the trigger pull was out of the box and it has just gotten better.

You know its not sexy, its not uber rare, its not old and it is bone box stock but I love my 3 inch, small gripped, fixed sight GP100. It just fits and it shoots like it has a targeting computer built in.

It's a toss-up between my 3" SP101

http://www.smugmug.com/photos/120893907-M.jpg

and my (new-to-me) 2 3/4" Speed-Six.

They're both just so darn handy! and dirty from a recent range trip...

I also have a 4" GP100 that I've never really warmed up to -- I might even [gasp] consider using it for trader-fodder someday soon...

well, I only have one Ruger wheelgun, an Alaskan in .454 Casull. it is a pussycat to shoot with mild .45 long colt and 240 gr. Magtech .454 was easily controllable. have not tried any "hot" 454 loads yet.

Only have three so far and it's hard to say which one is my favorite. Kinda lean toward the .45 Blackhawk in the center but dang it I love that little Single Six and the Super too.

My first of several wheelguns, and probably the best trigger of any that I own, especially after a full action job and about 25,000+ rounds through it. http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=51454&d=1169085630

It's a hard choice between the Ruger GP-100 & Ruger SP-101 models. Both designs have merits. If I had to pick I'd select the GP-100. I'm not a big fan of fixed sights and the SP-101 only holds 5 rounds.

It would be nice if Ruger made a stainless/blue model GP-100 with adj sights, 6 rd cylinder and 3 inch barrel for the US market. ;)

Crimsontrace now makes a Ruger GP-100 lasergrip and they have sold a SP-101 model for several years. ;)

I do not own one yet, but my favorite is the Ruger GP 100 Fixed Sights 3" barrel.

I hope to own one soon and I will add a night sight on the front and it will be the perfect truck/home defense revolver.

I own a bunch of older colts and smiths, but this ruger is among my "prettiest" weapons.
Something about that birdshead grip in white micarta and the short sheriff's barrel with the big ol' .45 lc hole in the end, all on that chunky old-style vaquero frame, it ALMOST makes me blush.

Any model of .41 Mag and above in caliber, but I'm more partial to the old model. (Smoother action.)

This is a hard call! (Numbers are NOT in order of preference; each one excels in it's own niche).

1. Double action tack driver: 6" GP-100 .357
2. Big bore boomer: Bisley 7.5" .45 Colt
3. ***: Old Army .45 Black Powder. This thing is amazing! I'm not into black powder and prior to shooting a friend's Old Army I would have never considered owning a cap and ball revolver. The two I've shot are accurate beyond belief! And the smoke..........

I've got a 4" GP-100 and a 2" SP-101.

The GP is better. With the lightest of the Wolff mainsprings installed, it's got a trigger that is better than my 25 year-old S&W model 10. It's easily the most comfortable, versatile, and accurate handgun I own.

The SP is the best there is if you're enamored with .357s in a small gun. Since I shoot mostly .38s, I'd rather have a backup J-frame, or one of those Taurus 7-round models for belt carry.

My SP is a finicky gun. .357s are not practical with anything but the best grips, and all +P ammo shoots terribly low. It's a backup for my 642, should it ever need to go to the shop. bit it's not a source of pleasure at the range like the GP-100 is.

The SS Red Hawk in .44 with the 7.5" barrel is lots of fun, accurate, and with Buffalo Bore's heavy loads emphatic.
The Bisley Vaquero, also, SS and .44 is surprisingly comfortable, even with the stock grips.
The blued GP-100 with a six inch barrel and red dot sight is fun and very accurate, when I can find the dot.

Mine's just a Ruger in .45 Colt, just had it embellished a little 'cause I wanted to personalize it. A very good local engraver did the work at age 91. He's gone now, but is sort of a local legend around here. Name is Logan. The thing is a tack driver and a sledge hammer with hot handloads. It's a working gun, carry it all the time when I'm outdoors. Down at my place, you never know when you'll get a shot at a hog, place is infested with 'em. The cover is so think, they don't lack for hiding places.

GP100 is first for shooting.

followed very very closely by....
SP101.

Both in .357 magnum. I don't mind shooting the 158 grnr in the SP but, the 125 grn bullets can make it through a box of 20 before stopping to rest my hand.

The GP takes a licking and keeps on ticking in my experience the GP is, with out reservation or pretense, the best .357 magnum on the market today.

Sorry but choosing my favorite ruger wheelgun is like picking my favorite child. GP100 6"SS loves the range and does some hunting duty. SP101 32 H&R 3" carries well and often. Security Six 2.75 .357 SS was added a month ago. Hasn't found it place yet but I couldn't pass up the price.Just added a Redhawk 44 SS 5 1/2" this weekend. Wife said today she thinks i'm addicted, thinks i need a twelve step program. I picked up two of them and said "How bout a 12 round program instead ?"
