I have a Savage Model 11 in 7mm-08 with the sporter weight barrel. I want to put a decent stock on it for hunting and target shooting (yes, I can only own one rifle, so I target shoot with a lightweight rifle). I am leaning towards a Bell and Carlson stock with the aluminum bedding, what does this aluminum bedding entail? The problem is, I can only find this stock for the heavy barrel rifle, would this stock still work for the sporter weight barrel, or would it look rediculous? Is there another after-market stock that I am missing for around $100? I just want something that feels nice and is rigid. I posted this in the general rifle discussion, but nobody wanted to talk.
