So Im on the phone today with a distributor, trying to do this complicated law enforcement deal, when out of the blue he offers me two S&W 44 Scandiums. Ok fine no big deal, I take them, turn to tell one of my guys we have a new toy to play with when a guy rushes up, whips out his credit card and says "Ill take one"..
I dont even have it yet..like I know they are hard to get and all but....
Now I love new stuff as much as anyone else, but I dont see a movie the day it comes out, nor do I buy something just because its new...

I know what you mean. I often wait until a movie goes to video before I watch it and I buy most of my clothes on sale. I don't care that much about new stuff except for when it is a product I have been waiting to come out.

Of course
Maybe he has been waiting to buy one of them?
Yeah he told me he got the usual hype from a garage dealer here in townwho told him that there would be a one year back order, that the guns would cost $899, blah blah blah, then he said he found one on the net and it was more expensive and he just couldnt wait till the price came down and the guns were in regular circulation, so I just charged him our regular price and he walked out smiling.
Wait till he shoots it:what:

Having just shot my 3" Model 696 .44 Special for the first time a week ago, I couldn't imagine what a Scandium/Alloy version would feel like!
But I'm kinda curious about definitions as they apply to handguns these days:
May you always reap the blessings of the "Iwannacoolgun" virus!
So if anybody wants a new gun when they come out on the market, they are arbitrarily suffering from the above virus? :scrutiny:

hehe--must admit, Ive done it more than once. And then there are times when you give the ol "I'll be back"or "lemme think about it" only to find it gone to the next guy who walked in. Once the dealer suggested a bidding war on a gun me and another gentleman wanted...whats up with that.

I shot a 357Maggie full house load, out of a Ti Taurus before. OUCH!!
It usually is because the person was in search of it for a long time.
I was in search of a Mauser in 308 for a long time, and so when a good one came around, I whipped out my credit card and picked it up without hesitation...

the recoil is prolly less harsh then being mauled by an aardvark
'cause you didn't want to carry a heavy sidearm all the time

Dear, I have a meticulously updated and reviewed list of dream guns - and were I to come into posession of $25,000 or so I would happily fulfill the first page of it in a morning!
I'm not even remotely fixated on new clothes (up here? - OK, maybe a couple new pairs of boots. . .), movies are ever only enjoyed after they come out on vhs/DVD - and the price comes down, etc. . .
Would I instantly purchase said scandium .44mag, and/or the S&W 500? Absolutely!!! Likewise a HK Expert with a Knights supressor!
OK, maybe some of that has to do with my being blonde. . .
