Hi, Been shooting My Rossi M971 SS 2 1/2" home defense gun I just bought a few weeks ago used for $190 OTD. Well after 250 rounds of .38's and 100 rds. of .357mag this little revolver is really a joy to shoot . Rapid fire with both loads as fast as I could pull the trigger were fine . So far no timing issues . Shot where it was aimed . Light and easy to carry. Very little felt recoil . Trigger felt good in DA and SA . Nice sight picture . Grips felt great in My hands . Must have been made after siesta !!!!!!!!! Should be a fine tool . Wife wanted a house gun she could shoot and loves it . ........................WVleo

You did very well.....not many people know about this gun as you may know by the lack of response thus far.
Ive long lusted after a 971 Vent/Ported model......Ive owned and shot a couple of Rossi's .....they are as good as the S&W, Ruger and Taurus guns Ive owned.....
Good shooting.
Shoot well

I discovered the M971 a few years ago. I bought a 2.5" and a
4" when a local sporting goods store was going out of business.
My wife keeps the 2.5" in her nightstand and the 4" is in my shop.
They do come with good grips. Both of mine shoot to POA.

Hi, damn thing just feels nice in my smaller hand and goes bang everytime I pull the trigger . I also enjoy the colored insert in the front sight for these older eyes . I read on the net about all the $200 S&W's ,just not in my neck of the woods , I've been looking a long time. So I really was attracted to the price of this weapon . very solid gun .......Thanks ..WVleo

I used to have a 6" 971.
Only problem I had with it was the time I fired a Georgia Arms Deerstopper through it for the first time. I was kinda skeered to find out what the recoil was going to be like (hey, I was young and stupid) and thumb-cocked the gun very slowly.
It didn't carry up and spit a piece of jacket at me, leaving it imbedded in my cheek, just beneath my left eye. Didn't hurt, and came out with a pair of tweezers, but it bled like a stuck pig and startled me plenty good, let me tell you.
Always wear your shooting glasses, folks!

Whew! Closest I came to what happened to you was a splitting a rim on my .22 mag NAA mini-revolver and getting a good dose of by-products of combustion back in my face. Thank heavens for good eye protection.
