I bought a almost new S&W 22A-1 today but can't find it on the S&W site or in the new Catalog either.
I looks a lot like the 107437 model but it has a fluted 7" barrel and it's part # is 104738. I can't find 107438 anywhere. I was told this gun was customized but I don't know what was done to it or why is has a part # I can't find. Anyone who has information please pass it on to me. BTW, I got it for $300 out-the-door with the original blue plastic case, paperwork and the 2 original mags. The pictures didn't come out too clear and the SS behind the barrel looks like wood!! LOL

It seems to be a factory build, and not an after-market customization .. but it is rather strange that S&W doesn't list it on their site. Considering the prices though, I'd say you got a pretty good deal on it.

Well, on the links you provided it does say it is/was a limited production pistol so that might be the reason it's not on the S&W site but doesn't explain the Catalog not having it. The little envelope that comes with the gun that holds the test fire casing is dated 01-23-06 so it's not an old gun but might explain the omission from the new S&W Catalog.

The fluted barrel barrel, the hi-viz front sight, and the finish seem to be what sets it apart from the ordinary 22a. Poking around the internet showed retail is about $400 but they frequently sell for between $310-$350. Reviews on the 22a in general seem to run hot and cold. At one time they seem to have had problems, I'm less certain of newer editions.

Love mine, gave $260+tax for it when they first came out. Its the iron sighted pistol I shoot the best. They've got a few quirks.
Mine has trouble with HP bullets binding in the magazine on the second shot of a 10 round loading or third shot of a 10+1. So I mostly shoot solids. I still sometimes hit the mag release when shooting fast at steel plates -- its in a goofy location IMHO.
Mine developed a light primer hit problem, but S&W warranty fixed it right up paying shipping both ways with less than 14 day turn-around door to door!
The plastic recoil buffers don't seem to last the 5000 rounds S&W claims, but they sent me more for free when I asked.
Takedown is easy, but you have to be very careful as it leaves the recoil spring compressed ready to fly if you slip. Reassembly, well a third had would be nice. Fortunately the gun is so open I rarely take it down as its very easy to flush with brake parts cleaner and Q-tips and then re-lube with Break-Free spray.
But if yours shoots like mine, you'll gladly live with the quirks!
