On second thought I'd make that helo the good old Blackhawk, and put those sweet 7.62mm Gatling guns in there. And maybe a few guys riding in the back with M60s.
If I knew the RPM of the gatling guns, I could whip up a concerted RPM figure.
Its bound to be :what: huge :what:
Gotta be ready for those flying critters too so I'd give the guys in back some specially programmed stinger type missiles.

BTW the fastest firing "Mini-gun" the US army has/had fired about a hundred rounds... a second.

If I had to walk around on the ground like in the Lost World (NO WAY COULD YOU GET ME TO DO THAT) I think I'd want a nice FAL and a buttload of mags/ammo. For a pistol something like a Paraordnance hicap .45 This loadout would take care of the manageable dinos, Raptors and other smaller critters. If suppose if you had an underbarrel 40mm nade launcher maybe you could take on a T-Rex. (do they make those for the FAL? Insert a G3 with one if not).
To be safe for the T-Rex I'd have to have at LEAST a jeep along with a M2 mounted on top though. Prefferably a Bradley APC though, that would have to be perfect, fast manuerable, armored and if the 25mm bushmaster can't take care of it, the anti tank missles sure as hell would.
Someone should make this movie, redo The Lost World and do it right...

I would take my Browning Buckmark Camper .22, a brick of Wally World Remington Golden Bullets to plink the little dinosaurs with. For the bigger critters, I would take a Lahti 20mm anti-tank rifle.
I do like the idea of a GE 214 Mini Gun. They bring good things to life.

I'm surprised noone is talking about the GMG. I think that a rapid fire 40mm grenade launcher would discourage pretty much anything from getting too frisky.

I'd be more sporting, and use a single shot rifle from WWII . . . specifically, a 57mm Recoiless Rifle M18. It fired a three-pound (21,000 grain) explosive shell with a muzzle velocity of 1200 ft/sec. Kinetic energy alone is on the order of 67,000 ft. lbs.
At 55 lbs, I'd depart from my usual safari practice of carrying my own rifle and opt for a gun bearer.
I suppose if I were hunting from a blind, I could make due with something like a 20mm Solothurn . . .

Bring full auto. Shotguns and bolt action rilfes aren't going to cut it. At minimum, bring a .30 cal full auto for distance targets and .50 BMG for multiple targets at both long and close ranges. Putting down a large, neurogically slow, cold blooded, aggressive hunter will take more than a few shots. Heavier weapons won't be mobile enough allow easy transport.
Think of how fast a Grizzly bear moves, then think of a much larger, bi-pedal, version of a Grizzly like the South American Gigantosaurous at just under 50 feet long, 8 tonnes, and 12 feet in height; or the slightly smaller North American T-Rex. Think of them really pissed off and hungry. lol Or, consider smaller hunters on the order of a large Bull Mastiff.....in packs...at around 45 mph.
Bring ammo, bring LOTS of ammo. Humans in the Mesozoic are wormfood unless they're well organized. But that brings up the consideration of old vs. young Earth. Hmmmm

To a Jurassic Park with the animals loose? A really interesting 'Ride on the Wild Side' :D
I'd probably ask for a couple of AAVP7A1s with some extra odds and ends. The weapons part of the odds and ends would include pistols and FALs for everyone, some M240s MGs, some M2 MGs, a Carl Gustav recoilless rifle or two and a lot of ammunition for each.
I'd also get a comprehensive EMT kit, with an EMT if possible.
Then I'd get enough lipstick cameras, communications and recording equipment (wireless IP and computers ?), body armor, NVGs and helmets to allow me, any companions and the APCs to make a good imitation of the marines from Aliens.
I'd also bring some high quality cameras (still and video) with zoom lenses, a lot of bug spray, enough food to go around and about half a platoon's worth of fellow tourists. :D
Full weapons training would be mandatory, as would be a signed disclaimer.
Cheers,

Guys,
Look at this a bit more logically, we have animals that range in size and weight from 1 by 3 foot and 2 pounds flying to T-Rex 23 by 50 feet and 14000 pounds able to move at 45 MPH. Not even going to discuss the Diplodocus at 50,000 pounds. A hand held rifle will take on the Velociraptor at 2 by 6 feet and 250lbs. But using the 7 yard rule for humans and adjusting for size and speed to 21 yards, things are still gonna be dicely!!!
APC minimum for me, perferably a M1A1 or maybe heaven to say a French Le Clerc tank due to the 20mm COAX. Either one with 2 people and I would maybe relax a bit.
If man portable, then weapons from Aliens.
Take a look at numbers and WEEP Dinosaur Stats (http://www.arts-letters.com/dino2/ency/DINORCDS.html)

Well I think being stealthy would be key for the larger animals so I would concentrate on artillery for the smaller ones.
I'm thinking Glock 20 and a rifle like a Bar in .338 WM with a high cap mag conversion and a scout style scope
Lots of Ammo.

Having stood next to and underneath dinosaur skeletons in the museum, given their size and bulk, difficult of hitting, heart, spine, brain (  ), I wouldn't trust any person carried weapon for the big ones if they could sense you.

You Hot blooded American Males are so Macho, all you wanna do is Kill Kill Kill  .
How about trying to reason with dinosaur to stop attacking humans?
One second though, Dino Hide Holster would be awesome. I will take a highly potent Tranquilizer gun (can't damage the merchandise), a large chainsaw, and a trailer truck to haul off the goods, Raptor tooth would make nice 1911 or Colt SAA grips, and T-rex Testicles would command premium price in China or Korea.
