... it sounds like Clint Smith may be leaving Thunder Ranch? Can this be true? Will he be opening another school or moving TR along with him?

I don't want to start any rumors, so if this is completly false, please lock the thread down because I don't want to take anything away from TR. Its an awesome facility with superb instructors.

No big secret. Clint and Heidi have plans to move to Oregon. Range decks and improvements are being made. The move probably won't happen for over a year, as they want everything in place when they do make the move. They will still do some training in OR.

That's uncertain. IMO Clint IS Thunder Ranch--and those would be some pretty big shoes to fill.

Agreed.

When I took Urban Rifle there, I remember Clint saying that he had so much respect for his instructors that any one of them could go off and start one of there own schools; but instead they chose to be at Thunder Ranch. My guess is that if any of them got his endorsement to take over as director, the school would continue to do well.

IMO, Clint (like Rich L. in many ways) set a very high bar to measure up to. Very professional, straightforward and upstanding kind of guy. I really couldn't say enough good things about my experience during my 5 days taking Urban Rifle at Thunder Ranch.

I do hope that I can get back there before he leaves though. :)
