G'day everyone. I've been browsing this site for a while now, but have only just registered tonight!:) I have just bought a M66-2, serial #AUJ 86## and am wondering how old it is? Is there a site where you can find out this info?

Thanks Hallsy

That Sn was issued sometime between 86 and 87.

Std Catalog of S&W 3rd Ed. About $30.00 @ Amazon.com. Great book, lots of good reading.

+1. A fine reference. If you have S&W handguns, it's a must. I have the 2nd edition. Going to get the 3rd edition before much longer. I always see stuff at gunshows that I look up when I get home just b/c I'm curious about it. The SCSW will give you production dates for various SN ranges, exactly what these engineering changes (dash numbers) were, when they were introduced, when they were updated to the next change, and any special variations of the gun in question.
