Does a marlin camp 9/45 have a disconnect so that if you dont have a magazine inserted, the firepin will not strike a cartridge?

In other words, I have one, when I dry fired it I noticed that (not a regular practice) I didnt hear the firing pin. I dont have any 1911 mags around, so I thought that it was possible that a magazine had to be inserted, or I have bought a broken gun. Thanks

I'm not sure about the 45, but my Camp 9 did. If you reach inside the magwell, you'll see a little lever along the back. Push it in with your finger and you can dry fire it.

Yes, the camp carbines have a magazine "safety".

The disconnector is something else: that's what makes a semi auto semi.

Yes the 45 has one to.
I removed mine soon after I bought the rifle. Not only won't I have one in a gun but the one in the CC would jam the magazine when I trying to insert it.

BTW if you have a CC buy a spare buffer or two. They can fall apart. I suspect one or the other cleaning solvent attacked my first one.
Marlin sold them cheap, probably still do.

M2Carbine, what all do you need to change to solve the magazine disconnect?

Is it as simple as removing the lever, or is there anything more difficult involved?

If they don't, Blackjack Buffers carries them. That's where I got my spare.
