Just bought a 50 round box of USA Winchester 115 gr.FMJ ammo for my 9mm luger. Got home and opened the box and found something I have never seen before. Some of the headstamps look like all Win 9mm ammo I have seen and used. Some had black primers which I have no idea why, and lastly, some had the primers looked like sealed in red like the S&B ammo does and the case heads have a different stamp than the others. The others stamped "winchester 9mm luger" these stamped WCF 06. What do I have here and who should I contact if I need to about this? thanks.

I've never heard of Winchester using Black primers. The WCF 06 cases with Red primer sealant sounds like USGI issue ball which is a 124gr bullet. Possibly the USGI line of brass was mixed up with standard commerical issue? Maybe someone will give a better answer than mine. You can always go back to the store and ask the clerk to see the other WWB on the shelf and compare, or go ahead and email Winchester for there explaination.

ok jonny c made me go look again. it is WCC. also the ones with WCC cases have a symbol on the headstamp. It looks like and equals sign with a slash through the middle of it, kinda like a t crossed twice. anybody have any ideas?

I have gotten some of these rounds lately in 50 and 100 round boxes of WWB 115Gr. 9X19mm. I was told in another forum that they are using the NATO brass and loading a 115Gr. projo instead of the Nato standard 124Gr. Winchester makes ammo for the military and are using left over brass i guess. You can buy Winchester 124Gr. FMJ made to NATO specs. but it is kinda hard to find at times.
As for the black primers, I have never seen these and would love if you could post a picture of them. On the NATO symbol rounds are the primers crimped in? Also this is my first post here so I guess I should say....HI!

I have read that some of the Winchester USA ammo is made by S&B. Rather that is true or not, I have no idea.

I do know I have seen boxes of Winchester USA clearly marked "Made in U.S.A"., and some that not marked that way. Again, rather that means anything, I don't know.
