SG stock size

Got the mossy 500A... anyhow on day one my friend and I thought the stock was just too long. I guess it is probably longer than our rifles. So I was going to get rid of the thing fast. I tried a Bulter Creek pistol grip folding stock on my SG, but I didn't like it... (multiple reasons). Then I almost took a table saw to the stock to take off about 3/4'' off the butt end.
The guy at the shop told me about measuring the stock size by holding the SG in the strong hand... gripping it so I could fire it and placing the butt end where my arm bends... this should create ~90 degree angle with the bend of my arm.
I don't know, thought I would run this by ya'll.
And now after a few outings of shooting it, it seems to work fine. I've been practicing mounting and correct stance as well.

That ancient method is at best only a very rough guide. Try this, it's a bit more precise.

Mount your shotgun, wearing what you most often whear when shooting or hunting. If two or three fingers can fit between your nose and thumb, LOP's probably close enough to work for you.

HTH....

LOP=Length Of Pull. Measured from the center of the trigger(rear if there's two) to the center of the pad or plate.

HTH=Hope This Helps.

OK?
