Have seen some knock off's for amazingly high prices? Even more than the uberti walkers? So what makes these so special...

I dont think there is anything magically special about these that raises the prices. I believe that its more due to the fact that the Italians dont make as many of these as they do with the Remmie's and Colt clones.

Are they the 'Walther' barreled versions?

They are highly prized as serious match shooters - both the euroarms and the Feinwerbau ( spelling). Actually very fine revolvers with the euroarms being equal to the best of the Uberti replicas I've handled. I think the deal about them not being made or distributed as widely as the Ubertis and Piettas is the best explaination for any price difference. Hard to tell though as all the replica prices are headed upward what with various devaluations of the dollar against the euro .
From what I've seen here, the ones imported by euroarms america may be a bit less expensive than the one I back ordered through Dixie. The euroarms people said their arrangement is entirely different than dixie but the one I got through dgw came in a euroarms america box with the same spare nipples and nippl wrench you get from the euroarms distributors.

I talked to an old Black Powder Pistol competition shooter ...He said he shot in the Colt reproduction Black Powder Class ...Funny thing is in that Class no one shoots a Colt Pistol ...The 2 Pistols of choice were the Remington Shooters Model and the Rogers and Spencer ... because of the top strap inproveing the accuracy ..of these ... the Rogers and Spencer is kinda of high priced ...except for the Remington Shooters Model being priced at around 600 bucks .
