welli didnt shoot this oneout the bathroom window, gotit about 200 yards behind the house, had been seeing some does back there but didnt know he was there, killed him with my mod 12 winchester with #4 buck shot, my house gun, csa:neener:

the only critters in my backyard are the swarms of feral cats that roam my neighborhood.

not to mention, the first time in a while i've heard from someone who actually used buckshot on a buck.

its real thick where i got the buck, 30 to 35 yard shot is about it, he didnt even kick went straight down, buck shot has its place, when i was younger i thought that was all they made!:neener: csa

from how some people talk, you'd swear it takes a nuclear warhead to drop a deer. i live in a state where i can hunt with a rifle (when i can actually get a tag) but was given the impression most people in shotgun states use only slugs.

i hunt deer and elk with a .30-30, which has gotten me called "old-fashioned" more than once. i also use a Model 12 for bird hunting most of the time. it's my favorite shotgun by far.
