mateba question
Revolver Ocelot

I'm hoping I'm asking this question in the right place to ask this question being that this gun can't be classified as a semi-automatic or a revolver being that its both but any way, does anyone know the address to the company producing or that did produce this gun or where I could possibly find out more about it?

Well, if you used shorter sentences...
The Mateba is it's own class called Auto-revolver, along with the Webley-Fosbery; and is a distant cousin to the Pancor Jackhammer.
Only one company imports them from italy that I know of, and their website can be found here. (http://www.awaguns.com/handguns.html)

The Mateba is (was?) produced by Mateba SRL.
MATEBA SRL - Via Sardegna, 7 - 25069 Villa Carcina (BS) - ITALY
Tel. +39 030 8982979 / +39 030 8982980 - Fax +39 030 8982981
e-mail: info@mateba-arms.com | mecvaltec@tiscali.it
They used to have a website, but that hasn't been around for a couple of years.
Back in the late 1990's, CDNN imported a whole mess of the things.
I wasn't aware that AWA is a distributor for them, so thanks to The Drill Instructor for that info.

I believe the company is out of business and the gun is no longer being made. It was like many other "novelty" firearms, a product that was made more to prove it could work than out of any real need or consumer demand. In other words, a solution in search of a problem.

evidently a new company is producing them and importing them.

Jim-
I was also under the impression that the company is no longer around. I just haven't seen anything definite.
That said, mine is an exceptionally accurate handgun, with a better-than-average trigger. Were they more widely available, they could be useful in a couple of different forms of competitive shooting.

I would just add - for further info - a search on THR for Mateba will or should bring up some useful past threads.

I did that but didn't find much more then people asking similar questions add telling how it operated, didn't find much on this new importer people had been mentioning but someone has told me who is importing them, I sent tamara a message on here because I found out in my searchs she had one and sold it so I'm hoping she can tell me if she sold it because it was a piece of crap.
