Well now...
I've heard tell that CCi #10 caps work purty good on factory Uberti nipples, some .454 lead ball, Wonder Wads, fff black powder or triple seven.
Throw 25-30 gr. powder, wad, ball, ram it down, cap and shoot !
Repeat as needed or until she gets too cruddy to shoot.
Then half-cock, knock out the wedge, pull 'er apart and clean !
If ya do your part you can probably expect 3 inch groups at 15-20 yards about 8-10 inches above point-of-aim; Army sights are better than Navies but still too short to shoot P.O.A. most of the time. Aim about six inches under the center of the bull to start...
Then you'll want some TRM or Treso nipples, R&D conversion cylinder, taller front sight maybe some nice faux-ivory grips, get the brass bits nickle plated for a little extra flash and, of course, ya need some gun-leather to carry the thing in, a cylinder loading stand and extra cylinders to save range time, 'course you'll need cylinder pouches to carry THOSE in
a capper, a flask, powder measure, Ballistol and a spray bottle, oiler, and so forth.
It's not just a revolver, it's a whole money/time sucking hobby now, whoops !:what: Too late, yer HOOKED...
Happy Trails,;)

the army is a much more versatile first revolver than a walker. but go ahead and get a walker later.

As cool as the Walker and Dragoons are, the 1860 Army is probably more enjoyable to shoot, because it's a bit more refined. So, don't feel bad. You can always add a big one when they're available.

Tell me about it...
I tried to max out the clyniders with BP and seat balls directly on the powder. However ended up over filling #6, and since I wasnt comfortable with shooting a fully loaded cylinder without the barrel... had to remove the clyinder, unscrew the nipple and remove a little powder.
Then put everything back together... but what a blast....
I got about 24 shots off.. before realising I was out of balls...

24 shots from a walker goes a pretty long way
