Here's a pic of my current handgun's, based on these handguns what type of person would you describe me to be. It's not varied much by action type. The guns are from top to bottom a Ruger Single-Six .22, Kahr P9 9mm, Glock 23 .40S&W with TLR-1 light attached and Glock 21 .45acp.
Just thought it'd be fun to here different opinions and don't worry, I've got my :fire: suit on :) .

Judging from the fact that you posted this thread, I'd describe you as insecure and in need of others' approval. :neener:
In all seriousness though, it looks like you're a big Glock fan. I'd need to see your long guns to make any more definitive observations.

My guns would probably describe me as someone who spends too much time tinkering with their innards, and not enough time shooting them.

Your gun horoscope today: Glock. Born under the Glock sign, you have a tendency to go off when carelessly holstered. You never completely support your own case. Still, no one can say that you don't work, and you are not a great burden to those near you.
I'd say that the underbarrel flashlight shows a good concern for target ID that is lacking in too many people. The single action .22 indicates a realistic view of the dangers of training new shooters.
Unfortunately, other signs show that you still believe in a giant banking-government-military-entertainment complex conspiracy to help you. Take a red pill (http://www.strike-the-root.com/62/walker/walker1.html) and call me in the morning.

How do your (amprecon's) handguns describe him? Hmm. A fun plinker, and 3 unfancy, no nonsense personal defense weapons. No frills, no race guns, nothing specialized, pimpified or grotesquely expensive.
I'd say "practical". The long guns also reflect this.
What my guns say about me is mostly "cheap, but not rock bottom cheap."

Well, the handgun collection indicates you're willing to risk your hands with plastic guns and willing to actually touch plastic. I dunno about that.
MY collection...? A.) not big enough, B.) a love for solid steel and C.) indicative of pushing the envelope a little on budget but super-able to find killer deals on what I DID buy. :neener:

With your long guns included, I can come up with a few conclusions:
1. Hunting isn't your primary use for firearms.
2. You like to get the most out of your guns.
3. You like diversity (recoil, gas operated, pump, bolt action, revolver, you've got them all!)
4. You're well-prepared.

Here are a couple guesses I would make...
Your shooting hobby consists of primarily plinking and informal target shooting (though you have put some thought into using guns for personal protection in emergencies).
Your gun purchases are fairly impulsive - you get the hankering for a new gun, and go find something that strikes your fancy.
You are either married and have children or are under the age of 25.
You are known as the "gun guy" at work. :)

If I had to guess, I would say you are in your mid to late 20's and have just started shooting since you got out on your own. You bought a Glock and liked it, so you bought some more. You need to get a 22 auto. Maybe just a conversion unit for one of your Glocks.
Being impulse is good and makes life interesting if that describes you.
Your gun collection suggests you don't hunt. You do like to plink, which is good. You are hung up on personal defense.
I like Glocks too by the way. I honestly don't have as many as you do. But I have a much more varied accumulation. What does that tell about me? I couldn't care less.

Might I suggest a Ruger BlackHawk in .45LC, or a SBH in .44mag for your collection.

I guess it isn't too hard to describe someone based on what type of guns they own. I consider my firearms to be tools and to perform a particular function. I am not a show-off and don't care if one looks better than another, I like to Keep it Simple Stupid. I am not a marksman per se, I feel that most guns are capable of accuracy beyond what a shooter is capable of wringing out of them. However, I feel that the "user" accuracy of some guns based on their design/feel allow some to shoot them closer to their potential than other designs, for me it just happens to be the Glock design and "feel". I shoot them better than other designs that I have tried.
Describing what type of person I am....I work in a pretty technical field with my hands and use schematics and diagrams and have been in this field for 18 years. I don't have alot of time for B.S. and drama and if something doesn't interest me I don't waste my time with it. I am government weary and consider myself to be moderately stand-offish and it usually takes quite some time to earn my trust. I can usually tell things about people after a short dialogue begins.
Don't get me wrong, I do like some guns just because they're aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but like most people being on a budget, have made my choices based on accuracy, reliability, durability and ccw-ability that I can shoot the best.

I would describe you as someone in dire need of a 1911!
I would think you hunt but on a very limited basis and only hunt deer or similar game because of your busy schedule you are not able to branch out and try for other prey. I say this based on the lone remington 700 ADL which looks to be chambered in something like .270 with a scope on it.
amprecon
January 31, 2007, 09:33 PM
Pretty good MATTW. I am quite busy most of the time, the Remington 700 ADL is in .30-06 with a fixed 6X Nikon and feel that it can handle most large game that I'd ever go after. Being from the eastern shore of Maryland where the use of rifles for deer is prohibited (except for Dorchester County (?)), the 870 was heavily used both on deer and fowl alike. If I had to keep just one firearm and had to depend on it for daily sustenance and for defense the shotgun would be very hard to beat. After all, it was THE gun that really won the west. I have owned a couple of 1911's but just couldn't shoot them well for some reason.

Profile :
You value reliability and consistency above all else, including taste. If single, you likely enjoy "Power-dating" (meeting 10 people in 100 minutes) to taking a stroll on the beach with a blind date, so as not to waste time if compatibility is lacking (After all, its not about enjoying the scene, its about efficiency). You'll tolerate beauty and form, but not at the cost of function. You will likely marry an ugly woman who can cook and balance a checkbook as if she were an IRS auditor who worked on commission. On the off chance that she is attractive, she will be the type who compensates for it with irritating habits that repel people who would be interested because she's attractive, rather than her special qualities. (Think of Sandra Bullock in "Ms. Congeniality" BEFORE she recieved basic instruction on manners and appropriate etiquette). You will die in your mid 40's in your car (Probably a Ford), because you worked yourself into a stress related heart attack, because if there is one thing someone like you cannot tolerate, its a jam.

I'll disagree with those who have said that you are impulsive. I'm guessing that you look at your collection, and assess various scenarios. You like to have one good, decent firearm for every nitch. When you see a nitch that has not yet been covered, you research, and look up your options. You then buy the best value and good quality gun to fill the empty spot. All of your choices look to be very practical in every way.
With your handguns, you have the bases covered in terms of plinking/training newbies, small CCW gun, larger CCW gun, and duty gun. Perfect. Every category covered, as long as you don't intend to hunt with your handguns.
All the handguns are a very good value, and among the "best in class". They all use common ammo.
As for your long guns, once again, you have everything from plinking, to HD/CQB, to medium distance combat, all the way out to 500 yards (lets just give the an arbitrary number for effectiveness in the hands of a random shooter. Im actually not sure what that scoped bolt rifle is.) covered. Once again, very practical guns. Common calibers. Easy to pick up calibers in case of SHTF. all effective, all reliable.
If you were impusive you'd have duplicate guns, and possibly more guns in obscure calibers, or specialty guns. Your's for the most part are good "all around" guns. You know, like the AK which in a pinch could be used for HD, defense out to 100 yards, or even hunting medium sized game. same with the 870.
I applaud your collection. It is representative of the values I would like to espouse in my collection some day.
As for you as a person, I'm guessing you are the type who does not get hung up on the little stuff, but has a few core values that are rock steady and will not be compromised. It probably gets annoying sometimes, but you are who you are. You know what is right, and you won't change that.
Incidentally, one of those duties is a very strong feeling of duty to take care of those who are close to you (family and freinds).
You are not the type to have a whole bunch of loosely associated friends. You have a few very good solid friends who you know you can rely on.
You enjoy yourself and have fun, but are at the same time, a very practical person, and don't mess around with frivolous undertakings.
You might like to let yourself get distracted with an interest of yours, but not to the detriment of doing your duty.
You prefer to drive with a manual transmission. You like the simple pracitcality of it. You are pro-active like that.
You like to be on time, and if you are late, you at least give the person some warning, so that there is no time wasted.
You appreciate the finer things, but don't overindulge yourself.
You like the idea of being a Renaissance man, and like to be able to be knowledgeable about a variety of topics.
You are Practical, Reliable, and Effective. Just like the collection.
How'd I do?
Edit:
Damnit!!! I didn't see that you already answered your own question.

You secretly desire to ride a harley, but are really bummed because the workers are now on strike and production will likely suffer.
You giggle at your flatulence.

I was to taking that people’s dog’s described them. Not their guns, Psychologists would say this as well. Psychologists would say (guessing) that something is lacking in one’s life, who owns firearms. My answer to this is: “Outdoor living”. Sometimes, the closest I get to outdoor living, is when my wife throws me out of the house and I take vacancy on a park bench in the great outdoors. I guess I can always have that first cup of coffee in the morning and after finishing it, I can always help the environment by reusing it to take up collections I have in mind.

You are...prepared. You like to plink, as the 10/22, M60, and Single Six indicate. The Glocks indicate that you want reliable, quality defense firearms. The Kahr, 442, and Kel-Tec suggest that you have a CCW license.
You hunt, but not often, as the lone Remington suggests.
You care about protecting yourself and your loved ones, and you want the best home defense weapon there is. Hence the shotgun.
Alos, you take into account that SHTF scenarios might happen, hence the AK, and the M14.
The M1 may see limited hunting use, but methinks it was an impulse buy and serves no real purpose.

I do prefer non-glaring weapons though.
