Haven't seen any threads on this. They caught Rudolph. There was a one million dollar reward, IIRC. They said the cop who got him wont collect cause he's LE.
I think they should give it to him. what do you think?

The lad was doing his job. I kinda get the impression that is how he looks at it, it's just that this suspicious person turned out to be a big name fugitive.
Give the money to the city.

Greeting's All-
Being a former LEO myself, I think the Justice Department
ought to make an exception; and GIVE officer Jeff
Postell the million dollar reward, as he did a very fine job!
Respectfully,

Law enforcement officers should never be able to collect rewards, nor should their departments. Allowing such would create an impression that people with money get better service from public servants and agencies.

Not only that, it would turn a lot of cops into bounty hunters.
Besides, they caught this guy rummaging through a dumpster. It's not like it was a day-long running gunbattle.
Which would have been sweet.

Reward him with a commeritive pistol or something. Take him out to lunch at a All-You-Can-Eat place and let him get back on patrol. He's good at it ya noticed!

Officer Postell will be rewarded by a fast head start to his chosen career. That's enough.

As much as I hate to admit it, rewards are for the public, not police officers. Hey, wait a minute! I`m retired! Send me the money!:D
Seriously, a promotion, a plaque etc. may be called for. Or maybe he could write a book like Chief Moose.:neener:

Officer Postell should at least get credit for the capture and good police work, not the FBI.
Rudolph managed to make fools of Louie Freeh's buffoon platoon and Janet Reno's F Troop assassins for five years.
Yeah I understand they are under new management, but leopards don't change their spots.

Letter in the file, an award from the FBI and give the money to a hospital or a library.

give the money to a hospital or a library
Yea, or you could just give the money back to the people it belongs to.

They should also give an award to the man who caught Richard Jewel too :neener:
