I own a Felix Sarasqueta y Cia side by side 12. It was a beautiful shotgun when I bought it, all hand checkered walnut, light engraving on the box lock receiver that is color case hardened, gold triggers, beautiful. I beat the hell out of it over the ensuing 20 years of duck hunting before I retired it due to not wanting to feed it steel shot. It was my waterfowl gun originally. I still have it, will never sell it, it's still tight and still shoots fine. I've got more in emotional ties to that gun than money could possibly make up for. I bought it at Cook's Discount in Bryan, Texas on a going out of business sale for a hundred bucks in 1971.

I was given the address below that they might (if they're still around) have parts for the gun. The forestock on mine split, I put a dowel in the back of it and sanded/refinished and it don't look too bad, but the checkering and such is pretty worn down from all the years of abuse and there's a little patch of rust I've been battling on the left barrel.

Seems there were three Sarasquetas over the years (read this on the net somewhere). The first was high end doubles. Felix came along and capitalized on the first's reputation, but build simpler, if still rather elegant doubles for a lower price. FIE in Miami Florida was the importer when mine was imported. Then, a third Sarasqueta took over the name building shotguns after Felix and he built cheap stuff from what the article said, so Felix build quality, affordable guns according to the article. I'd say keep and use that O/U. They're danged nice old guns built the old world way even if they're not exactly high end doubles. Mine, when it was new, was far superior in finish to most of the cheaper guns like Stoeger or Baikal that's available today and better built and adorned than most of the Turkish stuff for the money. JMHO of course and I'm a little biased.:D

Got my Sarasqueta side by side out of the toy box when I was putting up my Winchester 1400 just now, sprayed it down with rust inhibitor to put back up, and took a pick of it for this thread. :D

Arg, that shot is dark. Brightened it up a little and attached the brightened image.
