I figured some of you would like to take a look at the light and mount i made for my mossberg 500.

The light consists of a body with battery stop I manufatured myself, and parts scavenged from a surefire 6P.

The mount is a section of weaver rail, screwed with two screws to a custom manufactured steel insert in the pumphandle.

The insert rides between the plastic handle part and the steel retaining tube and is drilled and tapped.

this isn't a great picture, but i think it shows how it works.

If it stands up under the recoil, great! How's it switched, Remote?

Dave-
Looks like it's got the standard Surefire tail cap w/button on it (at tear end of the cylinder).

Standard surefire tailcap, as Erick stated.

I'm going to replace the bezel with a surefire weaponlight bezel as soon as i get enough money to afford one.

I won't have money for a remote switch any time soon, however.

those things are too expensive.

the all up cost for this light was exactly zero, since i had a length of rail laying around with some rings on it, and the material was "donated" by my dad's workplace.

I'm going to build some mounting kits that use remington or savage weaver scope mounts and burris rings (the kind with the little swivel joint in them).

would anyone be interested in a mount like this for their shotgun?
