ID a gun

sorry no pic but I was watching the movie Equilibrium and I could not really nail down what gun Cleric Preston uses as a sidearm... it looks like some sort of hollywood dressed up 92/93 Beretta or Taurus but I can't be sure. I know it isn't full auto, as it appears, as a close look at the second to last gun battle in frame by frame yields alittle revelation of holywood magic... about every third round in some of these brief shots is real, as seen by the number of casings..

Heres a decent pic of it. A Beretta 92 with a bit of DE mixed in I think.

What do you think, the front end is a real heavy compensator? I guess when going at it full auto, having that much weight would be favorable...
yeah, it is a monstrosity

He hid those up his sleeves? Wow.
And here I am sitting, trying to get used to a quite small K40 Covert on my hip... Guess if I was a cleric, I would be able to hold a Desert Eagle IWB no problem. And if I could fight like that, I wouldn't mind being a cleric! (though not to enforce that crazy stuff)
Where did you get that pic by the way?
Guess I should check if there is a website while I ask...

What's really amazing is the flush-fit 75-rd magazine. ;)

75rd mag... not really... I watched the main battle scene... by sound (since muzzle flash can be decieving) I'm gussing under 30rds.... I'll look at it again tonight but the scene wasn't that unreasonable, especially if we get to assume that it is indeed a 92/DE combo... the 93 could hold 20 in its clips...
Now, hiding them up the sleeves? I'd pay to see that... largest weapon I've seen done like that was a snub .38

Hey Mariner,
We don't say "clips" in polite company around here.
I just listened to the Director comments. They used modified Berettas because these were the only pistols that could eject straight out the top. Turns out that this was unnecessary since they could never get the effect to work right for the intended scene.
