View Full Version : bottom barrel misfire

the pin seems recessed in the bottom barrel. any idea how much that costs to have repaired because the gun alot of the time shoots off the shell but quite a few times today it didnt fire just dented the shell. even though yesterday i shot off 125 and never misfired. any idea?

Do you always get weak strikes or just sometimes? The hammer spring could be weak, the firing pin could be a little short, a piece could be broken off or there could be something binding a little at times that weakens the strike. Too many questions to just answer on-line. A gunsmith would have to examine it for a definitive answer.

What kind of gun is it? I had the same problem when my Citori needed new hammer springs. $20 in springs and it's good as new.

week fires only sometimes. the pin doesnt poke out as far as the top pin. i'll just take it to a gun smith tomorrow. i need to get the low barrel ejector fixed as well. it's not really a brand some guys name.

IS IT A CHARLES DALY? LOOKS LIKE ONE. IF IT IS THE LEAF SPRINGS SEEM TO GET WEAK IF THE GUN IS STORED IN THE COCKED POSITION. THERE ARE AFTERMARKET SPRINGS AVAILABLE WHICH MUST BE ADJUSTED TO FIT THE
GUN. COULD GET COSTLY.

It's common for the bottom pin to stick out less than the top. The bottom shell has to pivot past the pin for the gun to close, so it's shorter.

I had the same problem with my Citori. It shot about 22,000 rounds before it malfunctioned. I took it to Browning at a registered shoot. The repair counter guy said that he didn't thank it would be the pin. It was.

thanks ms i was looking at the pins and was like wow something is really wrong here. so i got a serious cleaner and got some in my eyes crap really burned bad.. i'm going shoot it this weekend to see if it's working better. if not i'll take it in.

thanks for the storing it cocked posistion tip, i do store it cocked. not anymore..

the gun is a felix sarasketa 12g
