]New to the site...I have been handloading and been shooting pistols since the 50's. Great to find a forum like this. Don't get to shoot as often as I like any more. I am pushing 68 and the eyes aren't as good as they used to be. For those with the same problem, try these targets that I have been shooting for over 10 years. Send one down range and when the light hits it you won't believe it. :) www.ez2ctargets.com

I need a target with a WHITE center so I can see the black sights against it. Old eyes you know! The last target pic I posted looks like everything is high because I am aiming above the black at the edge of the white so I can see the top of the sights. A couple of those target pics look like they would work. :)

That was exactly my problem...The flourescent red rings with the white center on these targets allows me perfect sight alignment and has made me a better target shot.

If I can see the sights against the target then I can put the BLURR of the sights where I need to.:)
I have tought about trying those glasses with the peep hole for one eye which tricks your pupil into opening further, lets in more light, and helps you to see.

I'm almost 60, and with my ole' eyes I use the Shoot-N-C targets. Shooting
these makes handguning a breeze~!(Laughing :D Loudly :D)

I think the peephole is not so much to open your pupil to gather more light (which would just make everything too bright) but to reduce the aperature that your eye lens is viewing through, which increases the depth of field, allowing you to keep both the target and the sights in better focus at the same time. Same principle as stopping down a camera to get more of the foreground and background in focus. I think you also get less aberration if the light rays are coming in only through the center of the lens, rather than from a larger solid angle, leading to a sharped image.

For indoors shooting I like several of the printable targets from this site (http://www.reloadbench.com/pdf.html).

I'm especially fond of the Red Center/Yellow ring (http://www.reloadbench.com/pdf/files/eightinchtarget.pdf) one (warning, .PDF file).

Another good set is at Targetz.com (http://www.targetz.com/) which has several high visibility targets.

Thanks, that's a great site. I have trouble seeing the sights on any black background and most bullseyes are black.

I'll be 60 this year and the Shoot-N-C targets are the best solution for me too. Sometimes I'll stick a flourescent Target Spot (also made by Birchwood Casey) in the middle of a Shoot-N-C. Then I can see where my shots hit AND see my target. What a deal.

The Shoot N C Targets have two serious problems for me. Firstly they are all black, so I can't get a good sight picture. Secondly they are very expensive...anywhere from a dollar to two dollars apiece. I buy the EZ2C Targets in packs of 5 pads with 40 targets on a pad for 27.00 and free shipping. That brings me down to less than 15 cents a target.

Sometimes I'll stick a flourescent Target Spot (also made by Birchwood Casey) in the middle of a Shoot-N-C.So *THAT* is what my dad was doing. He was an active shooter until he died at 73. He wore these huge tri-focals, and had some serious vision problems. When my mom asked me to clean all of the gun stuff out of the house, I found a ton of both the Shoot-N-C and the spots. I still have plenty of the spots left. I only wear bi-focals.:D
