:D

Friday evening paperwork comes in the mail along with my new 2nd half of my CCW permit with my T/C Contender now listed.... Today (just over a month after it arrived at my FFL) I got to pick up the frame from my FFL dealer. OH man i'm so pleased...

Took my Super 14" .30-30 barrel along with my Pachmayr forend and gripper grip to the dealer, and put my frame all together. this is a mean looking hand cannon. Still need to put some glass on it, but that can wait, gauges test fine, so with 3 rounds of winchester super-x it's a walk over to the range. CLICK safety works fine then.... BLAM x3, no odd wear to the brass, firing pin strikes nearly dead center on the primer, and MAN the fireball this thing makes! 7-8" from the muzzle! recoil is very manageable with the new grips, and not a sign of a problem anywhere.

I am just psyched, cannot wait to take this beast to my range with some glass on it and get the ol' girl sighted in. till then, i'll just be sitting here with 'my precious'

I have a Contender super 14" SS in 30-30. Believe me, it is a 'deer getter'! Good luck with it and enjoy it! (PS: You also NEED to get a 14" .223 barrel-what a tack driver!)

one question about your CCW:

how do you conceal a TC Super 14" .30-30 ?

I have an old "1st generation" 14" .30-30 with sling swivels, i used to shoot IHMSA and occasionally deer with it. I guess if i strapped it across my back and wore a heavy parka it wouldn't be too obvious, but ....

p.s. Gratz! the contender is a great platform. fun, accurate, and versital.

Congrats on the new pistol. The 30-30 is a lot of fun and you will surely enjoy it. As critter said, the 223 barrel is also a must have. Extremely accurate and low recoil.

I use the Burris scopes on mine and have never been disappointed - highly recommend.

UglyGlock: up here in NY state we are required to get a CCW permit in order to purchase ANY handgun, and each handgun must be listed on the permit. As for daily carry... might have to get the 8" barrel .45LC/.410 for that :D

...and oh yes a .223 barrel will be a purchase soon, as well as the 45/410 above, AND the .45-70 is a must. I will need a .22WMR barrel, and OH i will need to find some oddball wildcat so I can get my reloading hobby off the ground..

oh this will be bad :D
