Does anyone own a Lyman Army 44? Do you know if Lyman manufactured it in the USA or had it manufactured overseas? I know they don't sell them anymore.

They were made in Italy, I believe by Uberti. Lyman was interested in promoting black powder shooting to support their sale of bullet (ball) molds and other related equipment. Thus they paid extra to insure they would be good shooters, as opposed to collectables and wall hangers. I think you'll find it to be a good quality piece.

I don't know about their Colt clones, but their remington clones were made by Euroarms and were and are great shooters. if the colt clones are by Euroarms(look under the bbl or grips for a DGG If it's there it's Armi San Paolo or Their new name Euroarms.

Howdy Folks,
All the Lyman revolvers that I have seen were made by Euroarms, but here is one I ran across this morning up for auction that is clearly marked that it was made by Uberti. It is an 1858.
