In sheer desperation to reduce my ammo costs in these times of escalating ammo costs, I ran across Precision Cartridge and Maine Cartridge Company, Inc.. Who knows these companies? i could not find contact on the Maine Catridge Company. It doesn't seem to have a webstie.

If it's feasible, look into a reloading press. I was skeptical at first, but reloading for handgun (i.e. not match-grade rifle) is not a terribly daunting process and can be done in a relatively small space. I quality turret press turns out a respectable amount of ammo in a short period of time and if you shoot something besides 9mm, you'll recoup your investment quickly (slowly if it's 9mm only). Head over to the reloading forum, we'd be glad to have you.

My buddies dad gave me a box of precision .38 spl reloads. They where fairly light loaded and where very dirty. I must mention that this stuff was very old. I have good thing about this ammo so my box may not have been a good example.

If you only want to reload one caliber, the Dillion Square Deal B is great!

i could not find contact on the Maine Catridge Company. It doesn't seem to have a webstie.I found a few threads about them on other boards, a couple of which gave mainecartridgedirect.com, but that seems to have gone to that Big Server In the Sky.
I hadn't heard of them until just now, but the consensus on those other boards seemed to be that the ammo was okay for the price. Besides the link above with the complaints about their delivery time, I saw a few complaints about shipping costs. This one is in regard to .223 ammo, but note the poll in the last post on this thread (http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/archive/index.php/t-126730.html).
The address I saw for them was in Greenbush, about eighty-something miles from where I am. (No doubt an even greater distance over Maine roads. :uhoh: )
