Looking for anyone that has one and has shot some groups out to at least 200 yds. the only data I can find was 25yd and 50yd groups (worthless).
So if you have shot some groups, I would like to see what kind of groups you shot, what kind of scope, etc.
Thanks

This gun must be a pile of crap!
I can't find anybody that has one.
I've asked on about 4 different forums and not a single response.

A friend has one, and I trust his word. He has a 2-8 Leupold on it, and said it shoots the Hornady 200's under an inch at 100 yards and under 3 at 200. I haven't asked recently if he has been able to shoot it past 200 yards. I shot it just to shoot it, mega loud but the recoil was really pretty tame. A LOT less recoil than a K frame and full up 357 magnums. From the noise I thought it was going to kick a LOT harder than it did!! The bullet hit the small rock, about two inches in diameter, that I was aiming at on the backstop at 100 yards.
He never was able to find a scope mount that would mount the Leupold and still allow use of the iron sights with the scope base still attached. That is the only 'problem' I know of with it other than the recall from S&W.

I have one but haven't had a chance to scope it and shoot it past 50 yds. At 50 yds with irons it is accurate off a rest. Did you try posting to the S&W forum? There were a couple guys over there, redhawk and ohiococonut, that were really into the 460.

No, I have not got one~!:D
but, a fell'a who hunts deer over a 400 yard green field left his 7m/m
Remington mag behind this year, and killed several deer [including an
8 point] from an estimated 185 yards away with a new S&W .460
magnum~!

I have one . . . the 5" version and shoot it regularly at paper plate targets out to 200 yards. 4" is about the best I get from a rest, but some may shoot it better admittedly.
I did take a nice whitetail in December at what we paced off at 162 yards. 1 shot through the shoulder and out the ribs - the deer didn't move an inch and when dressing I saw why - the heart and lungs were just pulverized.

I have a 7.5" PC hunter with a burris 2x-7x with the posi lock feature... at 150 yards (longest I have shot it) I can cover all five shots with my palm. thats shooting while rested on shooting sticks sitting on the ground... I could probably shrink that a bit if I used a real handgun rest..
but its better then I am at distance...
