I saw the Russian M1895 Nagant revolver in The ShotGun News and a conversion cylinder 32acp. Anybody made this conversion yet? Fill me in. How does it shoot? Accuracy?Etc.....

I have no experience with the 32 ACP cylinder, but have seen more than a few posts that indicate people are having trouble with them. My advice to people who have or are thinking of getting the M1895 Nagant revolver is to save the cost of the conversion cylinder and shoot 32 Longs in the original cylinder. Cases will bulge but accuracy is ok.

The .32 ACP cylinder shoots just fine, but it'd probably be more accurate if I just threw the bullets at the target.

Really.
We're talking hideously large groups at seven yards.
I have serious doubts that the bullets actually hit the forcing cone nose-first. :uhoh:

Bad groups could be due to the extremely heavy trigger pull. I don't see why anyone would want to buy the conversion cylinder. The whole idea is for cheaper ammo, but why would you want to shoot this gun very often? Go with the 32 S&W longs for when you want to play with the Nagant.

Maybe I should have specified "Worse groups than the normally poor ones caused by the 75-pound trigger pull." :D
I wound up biting the bullet and getting a box of Fiocchi 7.62 Nagant from OWS. As little as the thing gets shot, fifty rounds should last a year; it's primary purpose is to take to the range so you can let folks shoot a couple of rounds through a gas seal revolver. :)

As atrocious as the SA trigger pull is on the Nagant( there is no word to describe the DA pull) with 32 Longs or Fiocchi 7.62 ammo you can still shoot half-dollar size groups at 7 yards. This is good enough to shoot fleeing deserters or enemies of the Motherland in the back.
