Thought I would give this a shot. My digital camera skills aren't up to those of many here, and neither is my camera, but here goes...

Another pic appears below in the thread.

I'm also a fan of the 15-3. Mine's not as pretty as yours though.

What's the difference between a 15 and a 19?

What's the difference between a 15 and a 19?
The model 15...refered to as "The Combat Masterpiece".......is chamber for only the .38 Special round. The model 19 is chambered for .357 but will also fire a 38 Special. Although both revolvers appear to be identical in size and are built on S&W's inimitable K frame, the model 19 is "beefed-up" in crucial areas to withstand the higher pressure .357 cartridge. Both have adjustable sights.

All K frames are near legendary for their smooth, even trigger pull....and more often than not this myth is based in reality; of course there are exceptions to nearly everything.

I would very much like to add 2" M15 to my modest "snubbie" collection, I am very fond of them. The short barrel model 19 came with a 2.5" barrel...just slightly longer. I own a 2.5" M19-4, with pinned barrel and recessed cylinder....swell revolver.

What I like about the 15 is the perfect blend of looks, balance, precision, and potency. The nickel one (1977) has the smoother action--and the target hammer, which I like. Its barrel is a little longer. The blue (1971), to me, is prettier. Love those blued guns.

Old Glory is silk and made in the Philippines, like the knife. My father brought both of them back from the war in '45. He was a lieutenant with the Seabees. The knife, which he called a "filipino knife," was fairly common in the islands. It's made from a 55-millimeter shell casing, ebony, and boar's tusk. The blade, he said, was ground out of a jeep axle.
