Nothing I want and prices too high.

Walking into a typical gun decent sized gun shop, I expect to see lots of Smith and Wessons on sale (hmmmmm, wonder what that's about!?), plenty of 1911 clones, shotguns of all stripes, lots of varmint/bolt guns, 3 M1a variants, 5 AR's, 2 defensive shotguns (mossy 590's), a few Handi-rifles, 10 or 12 lever actions, a sprinkling of .22's and 1 AK.

Off to the side, I expect to see 5 or 6 cruddy condition milsurps that are more than a perfect example of one might be priced, and some used guns in a rack of various makes.

I expect to see 3 fat guys in suspenders (per visit), one crotchedy patron with bad attitude, 2.5 SKS commandos and or gangsta wannabe's oggling cheapo guns, 1 smelly guy, and one normal person (hopefully me).

I'm never disappointed with these expectations.

3 shops close by---rifles---brands----shop #3 doesn't really carry shotguns-----see post in shotgun section

HS Precision
Springfield Armory
Various Milsurps
AK-47---various----new production
Leftover Steyr and Sig rifles

I'm sure I'm still missing a few.

I expect to see my CZ 452 Training rifle I ordered 2 weeks ago. Now I'm told it's on backorder for 6-8 weeks.:cuss:

My local shop has everything I want. He carries and stocks CZ rifles and pistols as a matter of regular stocking item. Only guy in town that does. Got my 452 and 527 from him right off the rack. Has SAR1s and he sells lots of Saigas. His 7.62x39 ammo is priced practically what you'd pay out of a catalog when you add in shipping, so it's better to buy from him and keep a local shop in business. He buys it by the pallet load. What he doesn't have, he'll get for you in a week or less. If you're in the Flagstaff area, Horizon Shooters is the place. He's not as cheap as WalMart on some items, but if everyone keeps buying at WalMart, the local shops go under and WalMart isn't going to order you (or sell you) a Bushmaster or a SAR. Or handguns. So, you might spend a bit more going to a local shop, but in the long run, you're making sure you can get the guns you want when you want them. If you're in this to save money, you shouldn't be into guns. You should be cruising yard sales to collect velvet paintings of dogs playing poker as a hobby. :D

the only thing i want to see are remington 700's of various flavors and model 7's in varying configurations. couldn't care less about levers, milsurp, 22's, shotguns, etc.

also like to see a wide array of 1911's...

but, that's just me.
