a quick run at:
http://webapp.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/nfilead2001.html

Reveals that firearms injuries are not even in the top 20 list of causes for any aggregate age group

i had to custom search by age 15 to 30, only violence related, to get it to appear:

Yeah, but the anti's would have lumped in criminals who received injuries from being arrested.........

it would appear there are many things more "harmful" than guns

it would aslo appear that a MMM campaign to limit:
Unintentional Overexertion
might actually save people from harm

An interesting set of statistics. Unfortunately the anti-gun crowd would not know the truth if it cam eand bit them in their posteriors.

It is amazing the way the Schumerites manipulate statistics. I guess the old adage is true, tell a lie often enough and it will come to be seen as the truth.

Wow, assault w/sharp instruments outnumber gun injuries 3:1. Can't ban knives though. We need something to butter our bread with and mom says to keep the finger off the butter.

Hmmm.... Assault by biting outranked firearms. How about a Million Mouth March, campaigning to have everyone's teeth pulled "for the children"? A ban on all food that is not pureed (the Gerber Amendment)? A background check before you can get false teeth?

Another misuse of statistics that bothers me are the Vietnam War fatalities. 58,000 are constantly reported, but only 46,000 of them were due to battle action. The rest were accidents, diseases, etc., and out of 2.6 million Americans who were there, how many would you expect to die due to non battle causes?

Figures don't lie, but liars figure....
