I've heard that Smith & Wesson will be bring back the Mod. 29. If so has anyone heard what the barrel lengths will be? Would really like to see the 10-5/8 inch come back.

I read when the 50th Ann. edition came out that there were plans to return them to production, but I haven't seen anything since.

After six inches, I'd just as soon have a rifle. But be that as it may, I'd assume Smith would bring out the more popular barrel lengths first, and that would be 6-8 inch.

I was under the impression that the 29 like mine was only available in weird barrel lengths. Mine is an 8 3/8in to my memory, those others I've seen are not standard lenghts.

I don't think it's a matter of "going to" bring them back. They are already back in production. Unless I'm mistaken ( which is possible )they are designated the 29-10 , and they are already out there.

Since they have 3 6.5 Ill bet the 8 3/8 will be back too, remember, the Dirty Harry gun? 8 3/8 in model 29. Thats how I got mine. A guy bought it because of the movie, didn;t like the recoil and gave me the gun and the unfired 48 rounds of ammmo he bought for it after firing two rounds.....got it for $300.00
