I was surfing the net and I decided to look at some anti sites, just for fun, to see what is up. I found this site, http://www.banhandgunsnow.org/may.htm , and it is funny how the anti-gun folks can not see the “forest through the tree”. All of these people are nuts, or were, can’t they see that. I was joking with an Anti on a chat room once. He was telling me that guns kill people so I was saying that people kill people. He could not see the fact that a person must aim a gun than pull the trigger to shot someone. It was the gun that did it. It got so bad that I really wanted to throw my comp out the window. It seems that people don’t want to see the truth. This is just my bitch:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I just spent some time ofver on that site you provided. I see their tactic is mostly fear and ignorance. It is a good tactic as it often works.

They make a big deal out of all the people that are killed by guns in America and claim if we didn't have guns, these people would still be alive today. That is false logic. If guns were the only means we had of killing people then it might be true but banning guns won't stop killings. Besides, some people need killing. If a crazed nut case comes into your home and is bent on killing you and your family, what are you going to do?

I have always thought there was a beautyful, and frustrating, symetry to this conflict where the "peaceful" unarmed folks use fear and ignorance as their weapons, and the "violent" well armed folks use logic and persuasion.

Yet another VPC spinoff site. In brief browsing, just as full of BS as VPC.

Fellas;

Emotion is not a thought process. You can't reason with people who refuse to think. This is but another proof of the old saying:
"Conservatives think, liberals take positions".

I'd offer the guy some tea and trumpets, while calling and waiting for the police.........

on second hand, I'd be obliged to clean the gene pool with my SIG and S&W:evil:

"Conservatives think, liberals take positions".

Pompous. In my experience many (maybe most) people do not employ much critical thinking left or right. I know that many of my own beliefs are emotive and the act of objective analysis is often difficult.

I think it is a shame that groups of issues and opinions get lumped together as "liberal" and another group are called "conservative" . If people truly use critical thought, would they not evaluate each issue on its own merits? I really feel the "us and them" attitude is getting out of control in our country.

Sorry for the rant, but I feel resentful that as a member of NRA and supporter of the 2nd ammendment that I am also expected to buy into this dichotomy. To label an entire segment of the population as "non-thinking" will only widen the rift and doom our chances of preserving the 2nd.
