I have always wanted a .357 Ruger Speed Six.......and had my eye on a like new Liberty Edition that was listed on Gunbroker with a reserve. After it didn't move the seller re-listed it at "Buy It Now" for $312. Not exactly a steal...but I couldn't resist. Locally, two weeks ago I came across a 2.75" stainless Security Six in nice condition .......now they can keep each other company !

I wouldn't trade my Speed Six for any of the new Ruger revolvers the newer ones just don't feel as good. Hougue rubber grips improved the SS handling.

Fair price for a nice revolver. I have two of them if that tells you how I feel about the Speed Six.

I have one in 9mm and love it. I wish I could find some full moon clips for it though. I don't care for 1/2 moon clips.

www.ranchproducts.com makes the 9mm full moon clips for the Speed Six.

Diamondback68:

1)That is a great looking "Liberty" Model Speed-Six!

2)I'm glad to see that you have developed an appreciation for the excellent Ruger Six-series revolvers-because, there are alot of gun owners out there, who don't have any idea, how good these revolvers really are!

It's a very fair price when you consider what .357s are going for these days. Get some Pachmayr round grips and some Wolfe springs and you'll be doing very well. I also wouldn't part with mine. It's got a 3-inch barrel and an action that's as smooth as a baby's bottom.

The stainless gun above has a different profile for the ejector shroud, doesn't it?

I also will need to buy some moonclips because I will be picking up one of those 3-inch stainless 9mm versions in a couple of days. Yes, I am excited, but less self-satisfied now that I see what D-back paid. I should have bargained harder, I guess.

D-back, don't ever go to the Centralia gunshows. There's a guy in there that sells me a gun every time I go, darn near. I think it is some kind of voodoo and would not want you to become victim. Or buy the good ones before I do.

The first Speed Six in .357 I can find at a decent price will come home with me. I've got an SP101 and it's nice, but it aint a Speed Six.

I've been looking for a couple years and I'm still searching...

absolute0:

Well, you can have a choice for a Speed-Six, in the following configurations, if you look hard enough?:

1)With an standard 2.75" barrel.

2)With and heavy 2.75" barrel.

3)With an 3.00" barrel, like the USP GS-33P Speed-Six shown above(Or, an overrun of these guns in the Model GS-33. Although the gun shown above, could also be an GS-33?

Slick6, in reality Absolute0 has at least 1 more choice , that being a speciman with the 4 inch tapered bbl. I have 1 of these I'm trying to sell locally .

A Speed-Six in 9mm is on my super short list of if I see it I'll buy it no question. The best I could do was a 9mm SP-101 and it was a hard long battle but I got it. That darn Speed-Six is an elusive one here in CA. since we can't get one from out of state.

That "Six" series of Ruger Revolvers pleases me right down to the core. :)

They shoot great, they look great, they'll last forever.

Enjoy your new toy!
