I have a 1860 henry rifel and need a tube spring. The one that is in there is to long. It was like that for the 18 years I owned it. How do I go replacing it.

If it is really too long , you could cut off a coil at a time until it is not too long. How do you know it is too long , are you not able to load it properly? If it is a reproduction HENRY parts may be available for it at www.vtigunparts.com

What I have is a original 1860 24" barrel henry. I know the spring is to long because when I push the fingeer lever upward it does,nt pass the section of the barrel you turn. I was wondering how too take out the spring so I could cut it off. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Tolly
