I just tried this stuff for the first and last time. Brand new gun, first firing, I fired 10 rounds from a J frame and tried to get the rings off. This photo is 7 applications, brushing and all, following it's directions...

Hmmmm, Don't look like the picture to me... in my opinion the bottle is worth more than the product.

That stuff is the worst. You can clean your gun with that all day long and it won't do jack ****. :cuss:

I bought M-Pro 7 and I never looked back.

Wow,I found this stuff to be great..at least for my autos.I haven't tried it on my revolvers yet.I tought it was way better than the regular hoppes...I think it is the same as m-pro 7(I think Hoppes bought m-pro)but I may be wrong.I also like the fact that it doesn't smell...oh well, different strokes I guess.

"I bought M-Pro 7 and I never looked back."

Mpro7 and hoppes elite is the exact same stuff, according to everything I have read. Placebo effect?

Anyway, supposedly hoppes elite makes subsequent cleanings easier, notsomuch better in its first use, if that makes any sense.

That said, I use hopped elite and I agree it doesn't take the rings off any better than traditional solvents (outers, #9). However, I really like it because it is low odor and doesn't cause cancer.

And it's all a moot point anyway, as a lead remover cloth works a miracle on those rings with just a little elbow grease. I clean everything with the elite, then use a cloth for about 5 minutes, which takes 100% of the rings right off. Looks brand new.

Hoppes # 9 and Breakfree CLP work much better, IMO. All I use the Hoppes Elite for is spraying the outside of the gun to wipe down at the end of cleaning to remove any remaining crud from the outer surfaces.

After trying Hoppes Elite I will never use #9 again.

It cleans as good and is not toxic.

For stainless (or nickel) guns, get yourself a Lead Away cloth; or buy a small
tube of Simichrome from your favorite automotive supply house. Both, will
get the cylinder burn rings off the first time~! ;) :D
